Alan Barbee

Co-Pastor/Elder

Alan  and his family have been a part of Southfield since 1995. Prior to becoming a co-pastor/elder, Alan served for many years as a Life Group Pastor and as an Area Coordinator. In 1999, Alan, along with Tim Davis, was asked by SCF to join our founding pastor, Dr. John Turner, as a co--pastor of Southfield.

Alan is a graduate of Texas Tech University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Alan is a part of the senior management team of a local DFW-based credit union. 

Alan has been married to Cara for more than 30 years. They are the proud parents of three adult children and, at last count, proud grandparents to seven grandchildren.

Ben Muir

Co-Pastor/Elder

Ben has been at Southfield since 2002 and has been a pastor/elder since November, 2019. Ben was the worship pastor for over 8 years, handing it over to Jacob Griffin when he became an elder.

During the week he is on staff at the UT-Arlington Baptist Student Ministry. Ben is a graduate of UT-Arlington and is currently getting his masters in theological studies at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Ben has a deep love for baseball (a lifelong Rangers fan) but also appreciates any physical activity. Ultimate frisbee, mountain climbing, and backpacking are at the top of his list of hobbies.

Ben is married to Shauna and they are happy to call Arlington home. They have four children: Jason, Sadie, Adeline, and Carter.

Jacob Griffin

Worship Leader

Jacob has been at Southfield since 2011 when he came as a college student at UT-Arlington, where he got his bachelor’s degree in Social Work and was a student leader at the Baptist Student Ministry.

Since graduating, Jacob has been working at Calyan Wax Co., and started his graduate degree in Business at UTA.

Jacob lives in north Arlington with his wife Madison, whom he has been happily married to since March 2019.

He has a creative mind and enjoys photography, music, and worshiping a mighty God who is worthy of the praises of His people.

Barb Krekow

Administrative Assistant/The One Who Makes It All Work

Barb is married to a loving husband of many years, Ed. They have been at Southfield since the late ‘90s. They have both spent time on the mission field and have a heart for seeing the gospel spread among the nations.

Barb is an invaluable resource and really makes everything work at Southfield. She is loved very much!
